Dr. Johannes Bruski has over 30 years of experience in complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including M&A, IPOs, public-private partnerships (PPP), joint ventures, private equity, and venture capital.
He was a partner at Allen & Overy until 2016 and has extensive experience advising on high-value, multi-jurisdictional transactions. He has deep roots in Saudi Arabia, having lived and worked in the Kingdom from 2008 to 2018, and is now based there again.
Dr. Bruski has advised leading government entities and major corporations in Saudi Arabia, including Saudi Aramco, SAMA, the Ministry of Commerce, Sanabil, Saudi Railways, Mobily, ACWA Power, SAIB, and TAQNIA, as well as prominent international companies.
His experience includes IPOs and public M&A transactions such as National Medical Care, as well as complex private equity and venture capital deals including Sanabil/GOSI–ACWA Power, PIF–ACWA Power, and Saudi Aramco/Lanxess. He has also advised on major joint ventures, including Johns Hopkins/Aramco and the King Salman Maritime Complex.
In addition, he has played a key role in regulatory reform projects in Saudi Arabia, advising SAMA and the Ministry of Commerce, including on the recent reform of the Company Law.
In 2024, he advised on a complex cross-border DeSPAC transaction (SMG Acceleration SE/BigRep GmbH), as well as several cross-border private equity and venture capital transactions in Europe and the Middle East.
He holds an LL.M. from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Bonn.
